Simple Steps to improve your mood, increase Self-Love, Self-Worth & experience personal growth.

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Set The Intention

From today (Or tomorrow, if procrastinating). Your goal is to be in a place of complete self-worthiness and self-love. Although this is a constant journey, our goal will be to feel different. We want to get those habits of self-sabotage like procrastination to stop. Let’s set the intention that in a month this behavior will be much improved.

Upgrade your morning routine

How you start your day is extremely important. It will ultimately impact the rest of your day. If you start off anxious and in chaos, your day will likely continue to be chaotic. If you start it off peaceful or relaxed, as though you are emerging from a cloud of zen & bliss, surrounded by angelic beings, who play music for you as an alarm clock; well, your day will likely continue to be heavenly. If you wake up intentional, listening to a motivational podcast, you will likely continue to be motivated and discipled. Maybe becoming the next Rocky, concurring the world, or defeating the beefed-up steroid injecting Russian. Here is what I’d like you to try. Wake up to peaceful music such as spiritual, coffee-house style, or even jazz. Pray & meditate (10-20 minutes). Say positive affirmations (at least 10 -positive things about yourself). Start a gratitude journal (write three thing your grateful for. Then write 3 three things that would make the day great if accomplished). Finally stretch (10 minutes of full body stretching).

Get off social media

I know, I know…. This one will feel brutal or even impossible. Let’s start by trying it for just 5 days. 5 days!!! You can do anything for 5 days! After 5 days, if you feel amazing, well then keep it going! … however, let’s aim for 5 days first. Then once you’re ready to reintroduce social media. Maybe just pick one form and limit yourself to 1 hour a day. (Social media includes: Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitch, Snapchat, and of course…YouTube).

Take a Trip to The Bookstore

Let’s take a trip to the bookstore, or Amazon (if you are pressed for time). The goal is to find three books under self-improvement, but on 3 different topics. 1. Spirituality. I recommend: The Bible by God, The Game of Life and How to play it by Florence Scovel Shinn, & The Circle of Fire by Don Miguel Ruiz 2. Self-love or Self-discovery. I recommend: Worthy by Jaimie Lima & Wholeness by Tourre Roberts. 3. Health or Financial Wellness. I recommend: Outlive by Peter Attia MD & Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Once you’ve decided which books to read, you can either get them via audiobook, shop on amazon, or purchase from a cute little bookstore.

Start Drinking Tea

Green Tea is one great way to start your journey to tea discovery. It’s also extremely popular in Japan (a country known for its longest life expectancies). It has a lot of benefits, look it up! Sunflower tea is a great Liver Detox and anti-inflammatory. Oolong tea is great to boost immunity. Turmeric and ginger tea are anti-inflammatory and a good digestive aid. Try adding a walnut creamer for added health benefits versus other creamers.

Try a Power smoothie

If teas aren’t really your thing, well a smoothie may be. Put all you daily nutritional requirements in one drink. Begin with protein/collagen powder, spirulina, and banana. Add kale, spinach, chia seeds, and honey Included Greek yogurt, aloe juice, and coconut water. Finally, consider any other healthy items you can come up with. Make sure the powder is a flavor you’ll like (chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry).

Plan a Trip

Nothing more feel good than having a trip or adventure on the Calendar. Pick a month, then choose a destination and make it happen. A lot of different companies have a pay as you go option. I recommend Trimaster’s, Gateway travel, or even Groupon (if you’re not too picky on where/when you’re going). Once that adventure is done, it’s time to plan the next one. Life is short…LIVE IT!!!

Get out in Nature

If you need a bad energy clearing, then get out in nature. You should set up a picnic in a tree filled park. I recommend hugging a tree. Alternatively, try going to the beach, and yes, get in the water!! However, just watching the waves is nice too. God’s creation is so healing. If you need to remove bad energy or cry out life’s woes, just get out in nature. I promise you; you’ll feel a difference even in just 10 minutes.

Find a church or a healthy spiritual group…

(Cults don’t apply here… Excessive control = Cult). Having a relationship with our creator will be completely transformational, in every part of your life. Finding a church is a great way to build on your spiritual walk with God. Once you begin to feel God’s peace & joy, you’ll never want to live without it again.

Take Vitamins

I’m obsessed with vitamins; it’s almost to the point of insanity. I really need to throw some out, come to think of it. But yes, take some vitamins. I recommend at least Vitamin D, Magnesium, and maybe a probiotics. Gut health is key at improving your baseline mood.

Clean & declutter your home & car

Have you ever watched the show Hoarders Buried Alive? How does that show make you feel…Happy? No!! More like disturbed. Holding on to old things, is like holding on to bad energy. Let it go… take it to Good Will, so some other hoarder can buy it…lol. As Elsa would say, “Let it Go!!” Also decluttering will naturally help you keep your things more organized.

Complete a project you’ve been putting off

A big part of self-love/worth is keeping the promises you’ve made to yourself. Those promises often include projects or goals. So, start that gym. Take that dance class. Read that book. Finish that project. Whatever it is you’ve promised yourself… Start and/or complete it! Dedicate just 10-30 minutes a day with it (if that is all the time you have available).

Starting a New Hobby

This may be similar to completing a project; however, your project or goals may not necessarily be a hobby. So, begin a new hobby. You may try painting, writing, a new instrument, or even learning to dance The Tango. Pickleball and tennis are also healthy options. These sports have been known for extending one’s life expectancy. They are also a lot of fun to play.

Create a budget

This is another hard one. Especially if you like to spend money (usually more than you actually have). Not keeping track of your finances can add a lot of unnecessary stress & anxiety. If shopping is your therapy, then try return therapy! Trust me on this… The feeling is way better, because now the money is going back into your account! I know …pure genius, I know… mike dropped!

Get a therapist

Finding a compatible therapist can be rather challenging, but definitely worth the effort. If you have insurance contact them and ask them for a list of in-network therapist. Take that list & look up each one. If a therapist’s picture or mission statement give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, well that’s the one you should probably go with. On average, a copay would be about $15-$30. If you don’t have insurance, then recruit a friend or family member that has their life together enough to have as a mentor. Getting a good therapist would help to address potentially inner child wounds. These wounds may have formed from a trauma response. They can potentially cause roadblocks for a better, happier, healthier you.

Stay away from Blessing Blockers

Gossiping, criticizing, and grudge holding are known as blessing and even destiny blockers. Try to avoid them the best you can. It is easy to occupy idle conversations with juicy gossip. At first, it may be very entertaining. However, once you are done (and sometimes even right in the middle of it), you will begin to feel the effects. These types of conversations have the consequential effects of lowering your frequency and dropping your mood levels. Over time if you continue to indulge in it, your relationship with God may also be affected. Instead keep the conversations positive & optimistic. Try to focus either on things you’re creating, your passions, what you love, and anything lighthearted.

Your Words Have Power

Life and Death are in the Power of the Tongue – Proverbs 18:21

Be Careful what you say about yourself. So many people use negative speaking, recklessly. They do not realize that those very words create their present circumstances, and unchanging surroundings. Speak life into what you want and stay away from negative statements, even if you’re joking. Your subconscious cannot tell the difference when you are serious or when your just joking. It is all the same. What you are saying about yourself will be treated as a request. So, if you keep saying “Today is the worst day ever” it will be. If you are saying “these things always happen to me” they will continue to do so. If you say no one loves me, eventually no one will. Words have power, so use them wisely. Also, be warned that speaking negatively of others can and will often rebound back. Wishing ill will on others may in result, bring those same wishes right to your doorstep, as if it were The Monkeys Paw, so avoid it.

Write an Enjoyment list

Write a list of 20-30 things that you enjoy doing. This list of things has to be things that gives you joy or much satisfaction. Once the list is complete, you should pick 3 things on the list to do every day. It can be as simple as lighting a candle. As long as it is something you truly enjoy, where it puts a smile on your face. This will demonstrate to yourself that you are worthy of the extra time you take in the day to make happy.

Tell yourself “I love You” Everyday

It may feel ridiculous at first to tell yourself “I Love you” or “You are Worthy.” Yet, doing so is key in developing the self-worth and self-love you seek to find. So, tell yourself this every day. Once you learn to treat yourself with love not only will you begin to feel love and worth, but you will begin to treat your loved ones more lovingly as well.
