Have you ever been on an unforgettable trip. A trip you wish you could just pause or even rewind and relive the special moments all over again? Maybe with some minor adjustments. You don’t remember how much the trip had cost you, and you’ve forgotten the amount of unfinished work you left behind. The only things you can remember, are the sweet moments from this trip.
Why don’t we relive a trip like this together?

This trip begins at the airport. We arrive with suitcases in in hand. Sometimes the airport arrivals are the best part of traveling. It brings forth all the anticipated feelings. Dreamlike possibilities, filled with blissful moments. The day of travel has finally arrived!!We settle into our airport seat, only to have to get ready to board our flight, a few moments later. We line up & board the flight. We are thoroughly prepared for this long flight with our noise canceling headphones & lemon balm droppers (an excellent herb to relieve anxiety & aid in sleep), and feet hammocks. We settle in & take a little snooze, while relaxing to piano music playing in our ears. The flight takes off & a few hours later we arrive at our destination.

This destination is nothing we’ve experienced before. Its full of colors, unique foods, alluring music, captivating art, and diverse people who may or may not notice & speak to you. This place is exceptional. It’s perfectly arranged by our travel agent, so we don’t have to worry or stress. We can just go with the flow, & follow his intricate plans. By doing so, we are sure to have a successful trip.

Our hotel is beautiful. We meet some of the most interesting people here. Every hotel guest is on their own personalized trip. Some travelers become our dearest friends, while others we just observe from a distance. Of course there are also obnoxious guests, who we just wish would’ve picked a different hotel or destination altogether. Unfortunately no trip is complete without a shoe pebble or two.

We meet an adorable older couple. Full of wisdom and life stories. Perhaps tomorrow’s guest will be captivating & radiant, blessed with features so beautiful, they ignite feelings of love, with just a glance. Then there’s also the possibility of the arrival of a new friend, who’s comments are always so cheeky, you cant stop yourself from laughing whenever you’re around them. We soon interact with a child having sparkling eyes. Eyes so big, there’s almost no space left for a nose or mouth on his little face. His little personality is so full of wonder and joy. We cant help but smile at the level of cuteness.

Most guests arrive unexpectedly, while some check out early, & a few have extended stays.
We never really know who we’ll meet here, but every day is a surprise, and most interactions are forever cherished. This hotel is tailor made for us. Our travel agent picked it perfectly. Even with its pros and cons.
For now, here is home, but only for a short time. So let’s order some expensive room service!

The food on this trip is wonderous. Depending on where we decide to go, the food can be vastly different. Some meals are sweet, some savory. Others are a work of art to behold. We shed a tiny tear, saddened that every bite takes away from the decadent masterpiece. The best meals are of course the homemade ones, with flavors that embrace our tummies like our grandmother’s warm pillowy hugs. We’ll never forget the food here.

The activities are exciting. We can go hiking, swimming, dancing, skydiving, snorkeling, boating, admire a creative show, or even take a mini trip within this trip. The possibilities are endless, but if we’re fresh out of ideas, then we can always ask our travel agent, his ideas are always the most creative.
This trip is absolutely unforgettable. Everyday was an adventure. We have truly made the most of every moment, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end. We have to check out with only the memories to take with us as souvenirs.

This is what what life is like. A short term vacation, with God as our travel agent. The people in our lives are just like the people we could meet in this hotel. Why not cherish & love on them as much as we can, right now. They are only temporarily passing through our lives, maybe sharing a similar path to ours; however, it’s always just temporary. Why not love and spend time with them right now, rather than later. Maybe letting go of any grudges. Avoid becoming overly distracted with never-ending work, chores, saving-up, or the usual everyday busyness. It’s all so very fleeting. If we’re not careful we can easily fall into a deceptive trance. A rat race mindset of future only planning. “There’s always tomorrow”

We can so easily take for granted the here an now. Going through the motions and waiting or saving everything for the future. Although yes, planning for the future is important, we must remember that the present is THE present. It’s the actual guaranteed gift. Nothing else is certain. Would you go on vacation and only plan on doing the good stuff toward the end of the trip? I hope not! We must live without regrets because we are never really sure when we will have to check out.

Prioritize being in constant communication with God for guidance. As our life’s journey agent, his plans will always be better than what we can come up with ourselves. As his ways are higher than ours. The alpha and omega, knowing the beginning and the end. Including him in our decisions will guarantee the best probable outcomes. Making more moments magical & filled with blessings & wonder.

We are all tourists. God is our travel agent who has already fixed our routes, reservations, and destination. So trust him and enjoy the trip called Life.

Eventually, this vacation will be over. We’ll board our flights to journey on. Never forgetting the time we’ve had here, both good and bad. We’ll recall the moments that were indeed priceless. We regret nothing because we did everything we wanted to do, and more. Maybe there will be another trip, maybe not, we never really know. All we know is that we’ve made the most of this one. Just like a once in a lifetime vacation, we will be eternally grateful to have experienced it.
